I am Board Certified in Family Practice and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. It was during my residency, that I began to pursue my interest in laser treatments and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. I started to attend numerous seminars/courses and worked with several experts to keep up with the latest aesthetic tools/techniques and advanced laser technology.
After residency, I became the Medical Director of Concentra Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. When I moved to Anderson in 2006, I decided to pursue my dream of opening the kind of medspa I can be proud of. Years later, I'm honored to have a loyal patient base and receive word of mouth referrals.
As an aging woman myself, I appreciate all that Aesthetic Medicine can offer; for example, Laser treatments, Chemical peels, Microdermabrasion, Medical Skincare, and Botox/Dysport. However, I confess my favorite are the wrinkle fillers. They require the most expertise and with proper placement, can instantly lift and rejuvenate the face for a natural look. By using advanced techniques, I can minimize scars, accentuate cheekbones, smooth jawlines, shape noses, fill in hollow temples and under eyes, lift brows, smooth lip lines, and much more. Care must be taken to avoid the "Hollywood overdone look." Because of my passion for fillers, I am one of the highest injectors of Radiesse in the Upstate. Every area on the face that I inject on my patients, I've initially learned by attending advance training seminars and then doing self-injections. As a bonus, the experience of self-injections lets me know how to inject with the least amount of discomfort. My goal is to enhance one's appearance and keep the face balanced. This means taking my time, using different types of fillers, using different amounts, and using different injection techniques for injecting different areas. The key word is "different" because everyone is unique and therefore it's important to be wary of offices where everyone is injected the same way.
Outside of work, I stay busy with my family. My husband is also a physician (but with longer hours) and it's a daily challenge to keep up with our two rambunctious yet lovable children. I also enjoy Cooking at home to avoid processed foods. Recently, I've become hooked on Hot Yoga and hope that it'll make it's way to Anderson. During my "downtime," I love doing research which includes reading, trying out new spas/ new technology, and shopping for the latest skin products.
